This guide will show you how to set up the Jira or Jira Server integration for your organisation on Blink.
There are a few small differences in setup between Jira Server and Jira that are highlighted in this guide. You should set up the 'Jira Server' integration if you are running Jira on-prem. You should set up the 'Jira' integration if you are running Jira as part of an Atlassian Cloud package.
In your Jira instance, navigate to the 'Application Links' page in the Appliciations tab in Settings
In the text box, enter app.joinblink.com and click 'Create new link'
In the modal that appears, tick 'Use this URL' and click 'Continue'
On the new modal that appears, put Blink in the 'Application Name' field, then click 'Continue'
Make a note of the value in 'Application URL' with the Jira icon next to it at the top of this modal. This is your Jira instance URL. This is what you provide Blink on the integration setup page.
You will now have an Application Link called 'Blink' in your list of Application Links
Click the pencil icon on the right hand side of the Blink Application Link.
In the modal that appears, navigate to 'Incoming Authentication'
On this page fill in the form with the following values:
Consumer Key: blink-86596795-944a-4e05-914f-d83b201c699d
Consumer Name: Blink
Now navigate to the Settings > System > Webhooks page
Click "+ Create a Webhook" on the top right of the page
On the following page set the following:
Webhook Name: Blink
And select Issue created, updated and Comment created as events to send. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click save.
Congratulations, you have now set up your Jira instance to integrate with Blink.
The final step is to point Blink to your Jira instance.
Either select Jira or Jira Server in the integrations tab and put the instance url for your Jira instance into the textbox, then click save.
That's it! People in your organisation can now connect their Jira accounts to Blink and get cards from Jira in their feeds.
