The Blink JIRA app can deliver updates into any conversation you choose based on almost any criteria that you can configure in JIRA.
It works using webhooks (what is a webhook?) and is really easy to set up. Please note, you must be an administrator on your JIRA instance in order to configure webhooks.
Just invite JIRA to a conversation on Blink, generate your webhook url, and then give it to your JIRA instance.
Get your webhook
Open a conversation with the Blink JIRA app. If the app is not in your contacts, head over into your Blink Launchpad and add the bot to your collection. Then open a conversation with it, or add it to a group chat.
When you start a new conversation with JIRA it will display a help card from which you can generate a webhook URL for that conversation. Press the button to do that, then copy it to your clipboard.
TIP if you need to re-generate that card for any reason, just say @JIRA help and it will show you how.
Give the URL to Jira
Head over to your JIRA instance in a web browser and log in.
In the top-right, click the settings cog and go to System. If you can't see the cog, you haven't got admin rights on your JIRA instance, and you'll need to talk to you JIRA admin to go any further.
Scroll down to the bottom and on the left-hand-side you'll see Webhooks. Click it.
Then click create a webhook
JIRA has a lot of configurable options in the Events section. These control what kind of alerts JIRA will send to Blink. Just paste your webhook URL into the URL field and then select the events you're interested in.
